Matthew Receives Award

We attended the annual Cordova Wolves football and cheer banquet Sunday night. Matthew and Ashley both got their participation awards and we had a good meal. However, we were all surprised by Matthew's receiving the new Mark Neil Wolfpack for Life Award.

This award is given to the player that exemplifies what it means to be a Cordova Wolf. That is sportsmanship, extra effort, perseverance and other traits. The trophy will remain on permanent display at Cordova's home field with his name engraved on it. New players will be added every year. He did get a small trophy to keep himself.

The Cordova director told Matthew later that they consider this trophy better than any MVP or specialty trophy they give out. We are all quite proud of him.
